Seasonal night restrictions apply between 1 June and 30 September, when ad-hoc movements are heavily restricted overnight and night slots are issued only for the quietest aircraft in very limited numbers. Outside the summer season, Luton provides a level of round-the-clock flexibility that Farnborough and Biggin Hill, with their fixed operating windows, cannot match.

The airport is also a practical base for passengers travelling with pets. Dogs and other companion animals travel in the cabin with their owners rather than in the hold, and on-site customs and immigration handle the necessary checks efficiently, away from the queues and holding areas of the main commercial terminal. Where Luton stands apart from the other London private airports is its rail link: trains from Luton Airport Parkway reach London St Pancras International in approximately 30 minutes, giving it the best public-transport connectivity of any private aviation airport in the region.
