Best Airport in Naples for Private Jets
Naples is served by Naples International Airport (NAP), around 7 kilometres north of the city centre and one of the busiest single-runway airports in Europe. It handles commercial and private traffic side by side, with FBO facilities for a private arrival away from the main terminal and quick access to the city, the port and the Amalfi Coast road.
Through the summer season, capacity at NAP is the thing to plan around. Slots and PPR arrangements are required, ground parking is capped at a maximum of two hours during peak months, and the airport closes overnight, so late arrivals need to be planned around the operating window. In practice, most private trips at peak either turn straight around after drop-off or reposition to a nearby alternate, such as Salerno (QSR).

Onward to Capri and the Amalfi Coast
For most clients, Naples serves as the transfer point onto Capri, Sorrento, Positano, or a yacht picked up in the Bay. Getting from NAP onto the coast is straightforward, but the right combination of ground, sea and air depends on where you're heading and how much of the day you want to spend on the transfer.
For Capri, a helicopter direct from NAP is the fastest option – around 20 minutes, and worth it in high summer when the ferries are packed. Otherwise, a private car to the port of Naples (around 20 minutes) followed by a hydrofoil or private boat crossing (45 minutes to an hour) is the standard route.
For the mainland coast, Sorrento is around a 1-hour drive from NAP outside peak traffic, and Positano and Amalfi are another 30 minutes further along the Amalfitana. Clients heading directly to the southern half of the coast, particularly the Ravello and Amalfi area, are often better arriving at Salerno (QSR), which sits on the far side of the coast and cuts the drive time significantly.
