Private Jet Hawaii

Hawaii is one of the few US destinations where the island matters as much as the route. We arrange private flights to Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island, choosing the arrival airport around where the passengers are actually staying rather than routing every trip through Honolulu.

Mainland flights are long enough that aircraft selection needs proper range and payload planning. West Coast departures can often be handled by suitable super-midsize or heavy jets, while longer sectors from the central and eastern US move into larger aircraft.

Private Jet Airports in Hawaii

Four airports cover most private jet arrivals across the main Hawaiian islands.

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL / PHNL)

Honolulu is the main airport on Oahu and the largest airport in Hawaii. It has four active runways, including the 12,000 ft Reef Runway, giving larger long-range aircraft plenty of operating room. HNL is also the clearest option for a private international arrival. US Customs and Border Protection handles general aviation clearance at the airport, subject to permission to land being secured before departure from the foreign point and within the required notice period. For passengers staying in Honolulu, Waikiki or elsewhere on Oahu, there is usually little reason to add an inter-island sector after landing.

Kahului Airport (OGG / PHOG)

Kahului is the main airport for Maui and sits around three miles east of the town of Kahului. Its main runway is 6,995 ft. That makes aircraft performance more relevant here than at Honolulu or Kona, particularly on a long mainland departure with a heavier passenger and baggage load. Direct mainland charters can still work well into OGG. We check the specific aircraft and planned sector rather than treating every long-range jet the same.

Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA / PHKO)

Kona is the airport we usually consider first for the western side of the Big Island. It lies around seven miles northwest of Kailua-Kona and has an 11,000 ft runway. Domestic, international, inter-island and general aviation traffic all operate from the airport. Hilo International Airport remains useful when the destination is on the eastern side of the island. For West Hawaii, Kona is normally the more practical starting point.

Lihue Airport (LIH / PHLI)

Lihue serves Kauai and sits about 1.5 miles east of the town. Both runways are 6,500 ft long. The airport handles mainland, inter-island and general aviation traffic, though the runway length means we look carefully at performance on longer departures. That is particularly relevant when a large aircraft has arrived from the mainland and is expected to leave Kauai with a full passenger and baggage load.

How Much Does a Private Jet to Hawaii Cost?

Hawaii charter pricing depends heavily on where the aircraft starts. Positioning on the US West Coast can have a substantial effect on the final figure, particularly on one-way trips.

‍

Route Prices From Est. Flight Time
San Francisco to Hawaii $48,900 5h 10m
Los Angeles to Hawaii $49,950 5h 30m
Seattle to Hawaii $55,900 6h 10m
Houston to Hawaii $91,350 8h 40m
New York to Hawaii $124,900 10h 40m

These are guide prices rather than fixed rates. Aircraft availability, positioning, passenger load and travel dates will affect the final quote.

Aircraft for Private Flights to Hawaii

Hawaii requires more careful aircraft selection than a typical domestic US route because every mainland arrival includes a long over-water sector.

Suitable super-midsize aircraft can cover some West Coast departures when the passenger and baggage load allows it. The Praetor 600 is one aircraft we may consider in this range. Heavy jets give us more margin and cabin space for longer mainland sectors. Aircraft such as the Gulfstream G500 become more relevant as distance, passenger count or baggage increases. Flights from New York and other eastern US cities usually push the requirement towards ultra-long-range aircraft. The Global 7500 is one option for this type of mission.

We do not choose an aircraft from brochure range alone. Passenger weight, baggage, forecast winds, fuel reserves and the runway at the chosen Hawaiian airport all go into the calculation before we put an aircraft forward.

Inter-Island Private Flights

A long-range jet brought in from the mainland does not always need to follow the passengers between islands.

If Oahu, Maui and the Big Island are being combined in one trip, keeping the original aircraft can make sense when the stops sit close together. A smaller aircraft may work better when several days separate the sectors.

Hawaii also has airports beyond the four main gateways. Some are useful for private aviation, though shorter runways and local operating limits can narrow the aircraft choice. We check those sectors individually rather than assuming an aircraft suitable for the mainland crossing is also the best fit for every inter-island leg.

How to Charter a Private Jet to Hawaii

Tell us where you are departing from, which island you need and how many passengers are travelling. If the trip covers more than one island, send us the full itinerary.

We will come back with the aircraft available for the trip and the final price against each option. Once you have chosen, the charter agreement confirms the operator, itinerary and terms. Our operations team then coordinates the flight through to departure. Ground transport, catering and onward inter-island flights can be arranged where required.
