Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is the only airport serving the city directly, sitting 8 miles northwest at Yeadon with a dedicated private terminal and handling separate from the commercial side. The drive from central Leeds is around 25 minutes, and closer from Harrogate and the north of the city.
A runway of roughly 7,400ft takes anything in charter service, with no practical limit on aircraft size, and customs are available for international arrivals Manchester is 70 miles west and the nearest alternative, though the drive means it rarely makes sense for anyone actually based in Yorkshire.

Yorkshire has nine racecourses, more than any other county, and several of them sit within easy reach of Leeds Bradford. York is around 35 minutes by road, Wetherby closer still at 20, and Doncaster, Ripon and Thirsk are all comfortable drives from the airport.
The Ebor Festival at York in August is the one that moves the needle, four days in the middle of the flat season that draws owners, trainers and corporate parties from across the country and from Ireland in particular.
